Hines Ward Willing To Restructure His Contract With Steelers

Yesterday, the NFL Networks Jason La Canfora mentioned that his sources have informed him that Steelers WR Hines Ward will not be back with the team in 2012.

Since then Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review has reported that the decision to keep Ward will come down his performance and ability rather than his cap number.

Pittsburgh will no doubt factor in his ability when making a decision regarding his future with the team but it’s going to be hard to overlook his $4 million salary when they’re already in the process of shedding salary as fast as they can.

Scott Brown reports that Ward has posted on his Facebook page that he is willing to renegotiate his contract to remain with the team. Brown reported earlier in the day that the team has yet to contact him about either issue.
