Jaguars Claim DT Jordan Hill Off Waivers, Place TE Marcedes Lewis On I.R.

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Monday that they’ve TE Marcedes Lewis on injured reserve with a calf injury and claimed DT Jordan Hill off of waivers from the Redskins.

Hill, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2009. He was waived with an injury designation coming out of the preseason and later reverted to the injured reserve list before being cut loose over a month ago.

The Redskins signed him to a contract a few weeks ago but elected to cut him loose this past weekend.

In 2015, Hill appeared in 10 games for the Seahawks and recorded 24 tackles, a fumble recovery and a pass defense.

Lewis, 32, is a former first-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2006. He signed a three-year, $12 million contract last offseason that contained $5 million guaranteed and is set to earn a base salary of $4 million this season to go along with another $4.5 million in 2017.

In 2016, Lewis has appeared in 10 games for the Jaguars and recorded 20 receptions for 169 yards receiving and one touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 34 tight end out of 64 qualifying players.
