Jets Sign QB Matt Simms To A New Contract

The New York Jets announced Tuesday that they have renegotiated QB Matt Simms‘ contract.

This move will prevent Simms from becoming an exclusive-rights free agent next year, but as of now, there are further details regarding his contract.

Simms, 26, was in the final year of his contract and made a base salary of $495,000 for the 2014 season. Simms was limited to appearing in just one game this season in which he completed 3-of-8 pass attempts for 39 yards.

He joins Geno Smith as the only quarterbacks under contract with the Jets as of now.

We’ll have more updates regarding Simms’ contract as the news is available.
