Jets Still Interested In Re-Signing CB Morris Claiborne

According to Calvin Watkins, the Jets are still interested in re-signing veteran CB Morris Claiborne, even after signing Trumaine Johnson to a big-money contract.

Claiborne, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with Dallas before returning to the team on a one-year, $3 million for the 2016 season.

Last year, Claiborne departed for a one-year contract worth $5 million with the Jets and is once again in position to be an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, Claiborne appeared in 15 games for the Jets and recorded 43 tackles, no sacks, an interception and eight pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 98 cornerback out of 120 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100  – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
