Kris Richard Favorite For Dolphins’ HC Job?

Alex Marvez reports that NFL sources he’s spoken to believe the Dolphins will hire Cowboys defensive play-caller Kris Richard as their next head coach.

Marvez adds that there’s nothing concrete in regards to Richard being the Dolphins’ next head coach as of now, but this is something to watch in the coming days.

The Dolphins are taking their time in regards to hiring a head coach and are reportedly scheduled to meet with special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi on Friday.

It’s worth mentioning that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross traveled to Dallas for their Wildcard game before meeting with Richard today for their interview.

Richard, 39, began his coaching career with the Seahawks back in 2008 as a graduate assistant. He worked his way up to defensive in 2015 and spent the three seasons in charge of the Seahawks’ defense before parting ways last year.

The Cowboys later hired Richard as their defensive backs coach/passing game coordinator.

We’ll have more regarding the Dolphins as the news is available.
