Lions Sign DE Alex Barrett To Practice Squad, Release DE Earl Okine

The Detroit Lions have re-signed DE Alex Barrett to their practice squad on Friday and released DE Earl Okine from the unit.

The Lions’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. LB Thurston Armbrister (Exception)
  2. CB Adairius Barnes
  3. WR Jace Billingsley
  4. WR Dontez Ford (Injured)
  5. C Leo Koloamatangi
  6. S Rolan Milligan
  7. TE Hakeem Valles (Exception)
  8. WR Noel Thomas
  9. OT Storm Norton
  10. DT Christian Ringo (Exception)
  11. DE Alex Barrett

Barrett, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of San Diego State back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Lions cut him loose earlier in the week.

In 2017, Barrett has appeared in two games and recorded one tackle for the Lions.
