Lovie Smith Plans On Sitting Out The 2013 Season?

According to Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times, former Bears head coach Lovie Smith is expected to sit out the 2013 season rather than take a job as a defensive coordinator.

Smith interviewed for three head coaching positions in recent weeks, but lost out on all of them.¬†There are still two jobs available, the Cardinals and the Jaguars, but Smith isn’t considered a strong candidate for either job at this point.

Chicago still owes him $5 million because his contract was guaranteed for 2013 season, so Smith is expected to sit out next season with hopes of securing a job in 2014.
