Multiple Teams Considering Claiming WR Lucky Whitehead Off Waivers

Dave Rich, the agent for former Cowboys WR Lucky Whitehead, tells Pro Football Talk that he’s heard from multiple teams that are considering whether to place a waiver claim for Whitehead.

According to Rich, Whitehead’s chances of being claimed on waivers, on a scale of 1-10, are “7.5.”

The Cowboys still elected to move on from Whitehead, even though he had all charges dropped against him and the warrant for his arrest was rescinded in the recent legal matter that turned out to be a case of mistaken identity.

Whitehead, 25, signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Florida Atlantic back in 2015. He’s currently in the final year of his three-year, $1.585 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Whitehead appeared in 15 games and caught three passes for 48 yards receiving and no touchdowns. He also rushed for 82 yards on 10 carries to go along with 394 kick return yards and
