NFC East Notes: Cowboys, Eagles, Redskins

Cowboys

Cowboys OC Scott Linehan said he isn’t ready to pare back their offensive game plan at this time and mentioned that they’ve actually “a few more wrinkles” to their game plan for Sunday’s game.

“I think naturally the players or anybody, maybe you’re this close or your just missing on something I think you start to press a little bit,” Linehan said, per Todd Archer. “I think our guys just need to just basically take the weight of the world off their shoulders and go out and play. Just start slinging it around and they’re ready to do that.

Eagles

  • Eagles RB Jay Ajayi said he’s dealing with a small fracture in his back, but plans to play through it: “You just have to roll with it until it heals on its own.” (Tim McManus)
  • Eagles S Rodney McLeod is reportedly out for the season with a torn MCL. (NFLTR)

Redskins

New Redskins WR Michael Floyd thinks he has a “great opportunity” in Washington, given that their offensive system throws the ball downfield a lot.

“I think it’s a great opportunity for me to be here. Coach [Jay] Gruden, he likes to throw the ball a lot,” Floyd said, via NBC Sports Washington.

“I think this bye week came in at a good time,” Floyd added. “I can get a week of really grinding into the playbook, coming back next week and getting out there on the field and not having to think so much, going out there and running routes.

“Making plays. That’s why I came here. Whenever I get the opportunity to go out there and make big plays, I’m capable of doing that. I still think I can. When I get out there, that’s what I have to show.”
