NFC North Notes: Bears, Lions, Vikings

Bears

Lions

Lions franchise DE Ziggy Ansah says he “wouldn’t wish [his injuries] upon nobody.

“I wouldn’t wish [his injuries] upon nobody,” Ansah said Friday, via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. “I’m just happy that I’ve been better over the weeks, and I’m just looking forward to keep improving.

Ansah is well aware of the frustration from fans that he isn’t out there with the team and says he’s committed “to do what’s best for me and the team.

I get [that fans are frustrated], and that only tells me how much love they got for me,” Ansah said. “They just want me to come out there and play and that’s what I’m going at. I come in here every single day just to get better and be out there and play with the boys.”

We have him featured in our Top 25 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.

Vikings

Vikings HC Mike Zimmer told reporters that he’s unable to read out his left eye and it won’t get any better in the coming years.

“I have to read with my left eye, I can’t read anything with my right eye even with (glasses),” Zimmer said, via Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. “I have to put a drop in every day and then I have to wait for a few hours before I can put a contact in. I don’t see good out of it. It is what is. It won’t get any better.

Zimmer wound up undergoing eight eye surgeries after he suffered a detached retina a few years ago.
