NFC Notes: Eagles, Falcons, Giants

Eagles

Eagles executive VP Howie Roseman said their decision to trade for Lions WR Golden Tate was a message that they’re always going to have their foot on the gas.

“The message to our fans, to our players, to our coaches, to everyone in this organization is our foot’s always going to be on the gas,” Roseman said, via Zach Berman of Philly.com. “We’re always trying to win. …What we can do now is try to do that for this season and this moment.”

Falcons

Falcons HC Dan Quinn said Monday that they plan to have K Matt Bryant test his injured hamstring on Thursday to see if he can suit up in Week 9.

“I think it treated him well, the reason that I say that is that he’s making a turn for the better,” Quinn said, via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We are not going to rule him out this week. . . .

“The thing that I was fired up about is that he’s closer than he’s been from last week by quite a bit. He’s really worked his tail off [over] the off week to get his strength right. We don’t really know with a hamstring until you kind of go [test it]. It’s like running. He has to test his power a little bit.”

Giants

  • Regarding QB Kyle Lauletta arrest, Giants HC Pat Shurmur told reporters there will be that “consequences for this type of behavior.” (Ralph Vacchiano)
  • Giants S Landon Collins said he was anxious about the trading deadline today: “Yeah I was very anxious honestly. I heard multiple teams offered a lot. … It’s crazy. My agent called me and I looked at my phone and thought ‘Oh God.’” (Ralph Vacchiano)
  • Giants waived CB Michael Jordan. (NFLTR)
