NFL Notes: Bears, Broncos, Cowboys, Jaguars, Texans

Bears

  • Alex Marvez reports that Dolphins assistant offensive line coach Jeremiah Washburn is leaving to become the Bears’ offensive line coach in 2017.

Broncos

  • Mike Klis reports that the Broncos have interviews scheduled with Bears special teams assistant Richard Hightower and former Saints special teams coordinator Greg McMahon.

Cowboys

  • Todd Archer reports that the Cowboys are still working to sign practice squad players Rico Gathers and Andy Jones to future/reserve contracts.

Jaguars

  • The Jaguars announced Monday that they’ve hired Tyrone Wheatley as running backs coach.

Texans

  • Jason La Canfora mentions that with all the talk surrounding how long Bill O’Brien will remain with the Texans and given their woeful quarterback situation, it’s unlikely their offensive coordinator position will be coveted
  • John McClain wonders if OBrien will consider bringing in former Broncos QBs coach Greg Knapp, who worked with QB Brock Osweiler in Denver, to run their offense.
