NFL Notes: Broncos, Cardinals, Cowboys

Broncos

49ers GM John Lynch believes Rich Scangarello will be a great addition for the Broncos’ coaching staff and pair well with new HC Vic Fangio.

I think the folks in Denver are going to really learn to like Rich Scangarello,” Lynch said, per Mike Klis. “Kyle thought very highly of him, highly enough to stick him in the QB room. Everybody knows how important that position is to your efforts as a team.’

“Rich really grew in his two years. I think the Broncos have a good man who is going to be a good mix with Vic (Fangio). Vic will have that defense right in short order and I think ‘Scangs’ will do great things with that offensive unit.”

Cardinals

  • Bob McManaman reports that the Cardinals have promoted assistant DL coach Chris Achuff to DL coach.

Cowboys

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott says he’s excited about new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore

“From the time he was a player to the time now, the things he sits over there watching plays and he will draw a play up, saying this is a complement off of that,” Prescott said, via Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “That was the main reason I pushed for him to be the quarterbacks coach in the first place cause I knew the intelligence he had in the game, how smart he is, how creative he can be. He is a phenom when it comes to the game. He is one of these young phenoms in seeing the game, knowing where the game was and where it’s taking this transition into this new style of play. He sees it and gets it.
