NFL Notes: Von Miller, Broncos, Buccaneers & Titans

Von Miller & Broncos

  • Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that discussions between the Broncos and Von Miller that are scheduled for Friday have yet to take place.
  • According to Troy Renck, Miller would prefer to not have talks spill over to next week and lead up the deadline. Renck says that the two parties are talking and the Broncos have moved on the amount of guaranteed money they’re offering him.

Buccaneers

Buccaneers WR Mike Evans admitted he lost focus at times last year, and plans to focus on his fundamentals a little more this season.

“It’s a blessing to be in the NFL, but I’m definitely not satisfied,” Evans said, via Pewter Report. “People will say I had a sophomore slump last year. I guess that’s fair. People can say what they want. I increased in some of my numbers, but I wasn’t as consistent and I got to get back to my fundamentals a little more.

“Yeah, just focus,” Evans added. “You know, I wasn’t focused in some games and I have to do that better. I have to practice more. I have to get better in practice with it. It just comes with repetition. Last season is behind me.

Titans

Titans running backs coach Sylvester Croom referred to DeMarco Murray as a “coach’s dream.

“He’s a coach’s dream,” Croom said of Murray, via TitansOnline.com.

Croom also mentioned that second-round RB Derrick Henry’s football talent is obvious.

“From a physical standpoint, his football talent is obvious,’’ Croom said of Henry. “Now, the mental toughness, the mental discipline, how to truly be a professional football player — that is the key and it will determine how much success he is going to have and how much he’ll be able to help our football team. The talent is there, but until a rookie goes through the first season, he really doesn’t know what it takes to be a pro at this level.
