NFL Notes: Waiver Priority, Suspensions, Cowboys, Eagles & Panthers

Waiver Priority

  • Field Yates mentions that the waiver priority will begin being based on 2016 records as of Tuesday, which means that the Jaguars will have the top priority for this week.

Suspensions

Ian Rapoport points out that there are a few notable players returning from suspension this week including Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell, Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict and Raiders FB Marcel Reese.

Cowboys

  • Cowboys executive Stephen Jones once again reiterated that “this is Tony Romo’s football team” and he will be their starter once he’s healthy, even with rookie Dak Prescott continuing to impress. (Tim Ciesco)

Eagles

  • Eagles TE Zach Ertz (ribs) said after Sunday’s game that he expects to be back for their game following the bye. Although, Ertz has yet to be cleared by doctors. (Jeff McLane)

Panthers

  • A source tells Pro Football Talk that Panthers QB Cam Newton (ankle) “feels good” and is “ready to go.
