Tim Cowlishaw has repeatedly stated that the New York Jets will announce a new deal with Darrelle Revis on Wednesday but it’s looking like he was only half right on this one. Profootballtalk is reporting that they are being told by multiple sources that Nick Mangold is the one that the Jets have reached an agreement with, not Revis.
Mangold is in the final year of his rookie contract which will pay him $3.3 million this season. Unlike Revis, he decided to report to camp and play this season even though he was openly disappointed with the his current situation. Maybe the Jets are trying to use this as way to lure Revis out of his holdout.
