No Guarantee DeSean Jackson Returns To Eagles

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, there is a “legitimate chance” free agent WR DeSean Jackson ends up signing with a team other than the Eagles, as there is expected to be a “good number” of suitors for his services in free agency.

La Canfora admits that Jackson returning to the Eagles is still a possibility that “makes sense on a lot of levels.” Interestingly enough, sources who La Canfora has spoken to in recent months made it seem like Jackson returning to Philadelphia was likely a near certainty, but the limited free agent pool of receivers could lead to other teams getting involved.

Some teams to watch for Jackson, according to La Canfora, could include the Buccaneers, Titans and possibly the Ravens.

As for the Eagles, league sources tell La Canfora Philadelphia is likely to be in on Bears free agent WR Alshon Jeffery, assuming he isn’t franchised.

Of course, a return to Washington is still a possibility for Jackson, even though recent reports have said that the two parties have yet to have extension talks.

Jackson, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2008. He spent six years with the Eagles before signing a three-year, $24 million contract that included $16 million guaranteed with the Redskins back in 2014.

In 2016, Jackson appeared in 14 games for the Redskins and caught 56 passes for 1005 yards receiving and four touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 36 receiver out of 115 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2017 Free Agents list.
