Packers DT Letroy Guion Arrested For Marijuana Possession

Update:

Tyler Dunne reports that Packers DT Letroy Guion had a firearm, 357 grams of marijuana, and $190,028.81 in US currency at the time of his arrest.

Here’s what the lot looks like:

Rob Demovsky of ESPN reports that Packers DT Letroy Guion was arrested for possession of marijuana in his hometown of Starke, Florida.

  • Tyler Dunne reports that Guion marijuana will be a felony charge based on the fact that he had more than 20 grams on him at the time.

Police captain Barry Warren said Guion was arrested late Tuesday night, but the full police report isn’t expected to be available until later Wednesday.

The Packers have released a statement regarding Guion’s arrest:

We are aware of a serious matter involving Letroy Guion. We have not yet spoken to Letroy and we will have no further comment.”

Green Bay has to be very disappointed with this news. The Packers were reportedly negotiating a contract extension with Guion back in December.

Aaron Rodgers even referred to Guion as one of his favorite teammates of all-time and was hoping he would be back with them next year.

Guion, 27, signed a one-year, $1 million last March, which proved to be a great move not just because of his low salary, but because they lost veteran DT B.J. Raji for the season with a bicep tear.

He will be an unrestricted free agent in a matter of weeks.

This year, Guion recorded 32 tackles, 3.5 sacks and has been a solid run-defender in the middle the Packers’ defense.
