Packers Place P Jacob Schum On I.R. After Clearing Waivers

The Green Bay Packers have placed P Jacob Schum on injured reserve after he passed through waivers unclaimed on Friday.

Schum has been dealing with a back injury that has kept him out of OTA practices.

Schum, 28, originally signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Buffalo back in 2013. He lasted just a few months in Cleveland before he was waived.

Schum bounced around a bit with the Buccaneers and Jets before Tampa Bay cut him loose during the preseason last year and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Packers. Green Bay brought Schum back this past March on a one-year, $615,000 exclusive rights deal.

In 2016, Schum appeared in all 16 games for the Packers and totaled 2,269 yards on 56 attempts (40.51 YPA) and four touchbacks.
