The Green Bay Packers announced Tuesday that theyโve placed WR Geronimo Allison on injured reserve and waived S Jermaine Whitehead.
- The Packers also promoted CB Will Redmond to their active roster and signed LB Brady Sheldon to their practice squad.
Hereโs the Packers updated practice squad:
- LB Kendall Donnerson
- DL James Looney
- G/T Adam Pankey
- OT Anthony Coyle
- DL Deon Simon
- WR Keon Hatcher
- FB Dan Vitale
- TE Ethan Wolf
- RB Lavon Coleman
- LB Brady Sheldon
Reports from Monday said that Allison was expected to undergo surgery for a core muscle injury, so this move was expected.
Allison, 24, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois back in May of last year. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later signed to their practice squad and eventually promoted to their active roster after Green Bay sustained some injuries at receiver.
The Packers brought Allison back on exclusive rights deals each of the past two years. Heโll be a restricted free agent in 2019.
In 2018, Allison has appeared in five games for the Packers and caught 20 passes for 303 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
