Patriots Sign OL Marcus Cannon To A Two-Year Extension

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the New England Patriots have signed OL Marcus Cannon to a two-year contract extension.

Cannon, 26, was in the final year of his four-year, $2.338 million rookie contract and will make a base salary of $693,843 for the 2014 season.

Coming out of TCU, it was discovered that Cannon had non-Hodgkin lymphoma, which forced him to undergo treatment that summer. The Patriots selected him in the fifth-round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

This year, Cannon has appeared in 13 games and has played a total of 329 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. Cannon has a poor PFF rating of -8.5 this season due to struggles in both run and pass-protection.

We’ll have the contract details posted as they’re available.
