Paxton Lynch Now QB To Watch For Browns?

According to Adam Schefer of ESPN, Memphis QB Paxton Lynch is now someone to watch for the Browns after they agreed to trade out of the No. 2 overall spot on Wednesday.

As of now, the Browns own the No. 8 overall pick and there has already been talk that Lynch could end up being one of the big winners following the trades up the board by the Rams and Eagles.

It’s worth mentioning that some believe the Browns could still look to trade back even further in round one and continue accumulating future draft picks to aid their rebuild.

Previous reports have said that the Browns could wait until the second round to grab a quarterback such as Michigan State’s Connor Cook. However, it’s possible that their sights could be set on Lynch.

Cleveland did sign Robert Griffin III to a decent contract and they still have Josh McCown on their roster as well, so it’s possible that their plan could be to not force taking a quarterback this year and instead see what happens with a mid-round pick before reconsidering their options in 2017.

During his three years at Memphis, Lynch threw for 8,865 yards while completing 62.9 percent of his passes to go along with 59 touchdowns and 23 interceptions. He also contributed 687 yards rushing and 17 rushing touchdowns during this time.

We’ll have more regarding the Browns and their draft options as the news is available.
