ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Raiders are bringing in free agent S Reggie Nelson for a visit today and tomorrow.

It’s been surprising to see how little interest Nelson has found since free agency opened over four weeks ago, given that he’s coming off of a productive year for the Bengals.

Indications are that Nelson won’t be back in Cincinnati next year, but the Raiders could be a good landing spot for him.

Nelson, 32, is a former first-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2007. He spent three years in Jacksonville before he was traded to the Bengals in return for David Jones and conditional draft pick.

Nelson played out his contract and is among the best available players in this year’s free agent market.

In 2015, Nelson appeared in all 16 games and recorded 77 tackles, eight interceptions, two forced fumbles, and 14 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 9 safety out of 88 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
