Report: Steelers Will Sign CB Demarcus Van Dyke

Pro Football Talk reports that the Pittsburgh Steelers will be adding some depth at cornerback in the form of former Raiders third-round pick Demarcus Van Dyke.

Van Dyke is known for possessing exceptional speed, but there some concerns regarding his coverage skills. The Raiders have made a number of cuts since Reggie McKenzie took over as the team’s general manager.

Van Dyke is worth taking a chance on, and I’m sure the Steelers feel good about the addition.

Pro Football Talk reported earlier in the day that the Oakland Raiders waived last year’s third-round pick CB Demarcus Van Dyke.

This came shortly after the team signed Joselio Hanson to play as their nickel corner. It’s honestly a bit surprising to see Oakland move on without Van Dyke, but new GM Reggie McKenize has made a lot of notable cuts since taking over. Van Dyke has electrifying speed, which is why the Raiders and longtime owner Al Davis drafted him in the first place.  I’m sure Van Dyke will catch on with another team in the coming days.
