Raiders Not Sold On Terrelle Pryor Being Their Future QB?

Mike Silver of the NFL Network mentioned that people within the Raiders organization are not convinced that Terrelle Pryor is the long-term solution at quarterback.

  • Ian Rapoport adds that the Raiders coaching staff “loves” undrafted rookie Matt McGloin and today’s game against the Texans will be a “big barometer on if he can supplant Pryor.”
  • Vic Tafur also mentions that the sense around the team is that if McGloin plays well against the Texans, Pryor won’t get the starting job back.

Pryor showed some flashes of being a decent quarterback earlier this season, but since then he’s really struggled to be as effective. By the end of the season, the Raiders will have given Pryor a shot at proving his worth, but even a strong showing today from McGloin probably won’t be enough to convince them pass on drafting a long-term solution next May.
