Mike Garafolo and Petere Schrager of FOX Sports are reporting that Raiders second-year TE Clive Walford suffered a knee injury in an ATV accident that occurred earlier in the offseason.

Walford will sit out of the Raiders’ spring practices and is reportedly ahead of schedule in his recovery. The expectation is that Walford will be back in time for training camp at some point.

A source tells Garafolo and Schrager that the injury “may not be as bad as originally thought.”

According to the report, Walford underwent surgery, but it’s still unclear what the specific nature of the injury is.

Walford, 24, was taken in the third round of the 2015 draft. He’s in the second year of his four-year, $3.345 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $582,500 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Walford appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and recorded 28 receptions for 329 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
