Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports the Rams and DE William Hayes have agreed to terms on a new contract.

  • Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Rams are “intent” on trying to re-sign Hayes.
  • According to La Canfora, Hayes has a nice market right now and is one of few notable pass rushers available.
  • However, La Canfora is ruling out Hayes being back with the Rams.

The Cardinals, Dolphins and Panthers have all come up as potential options for Hayes.

Hayes, 30, was drafted by the Titans in the fourth round of the 2008 draft. After playing out his rookie contract, Hayes followed Jeff Fisher to St. Loius.

In 2015, Hayes appeared in all 16 games for the Rams and recorded 54 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 13 edge rusher out of 110 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2016 Free Agents list.
