Redskins LT Trent Williams Week To Week Following Surgery

Redskins HC Jay Gruden announced Friday that LT Trent Williams underwent surgery for a thumb injury and is now “week to week,” per JP Finlay.

Williams recently met with a specialist regarding his dislocated thumb and it looks like they decided it was best for him to get the surgery now.

Williams will miss Sunday’s game against the Falcons, which means Ty Nsekhe will be their starting left tackle.

Williams, 30, is a former first-round pick of the Redskins back in 2010. He currently in the third year of his five-year, $66 million contract that includes $43.25 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $10 million and $11 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2018, Williams has appeared in seven games for the Redskins.
