Redskins Starting QB Colt McCoy Against Cowboys

Albert Breer of the NFL Network reports that the Redskins will start QB Colt McCoy against the Cowboys this evening.

Ian Rapoport mentioned earlier this morning that “it wouldd be a major surprise” to everyone if QB Robert Griffin III started Monday night’s game, so this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

Last weekend, McCoy took over for Kirk Cousins at halftime and proceeded to throw for 128 yards and a touchdown while completing 11 of 12 pass attempts (91.7 percent).

It will be interesting to see what he’s capable of doing with a full week to prepare, but I wouldn’t see that overall expectations are that high.

As for RGIII, there is a chance he could be back for their Week 9 match up against the Vikings, but we’ll have to monitor his status throughout the week.
