Redskins Waive 2013 Fifth-Round Pick OLB Brandon Jenkins

John Keim of ESPN.com reports that the Redskins have waived 2013 fifth-round pick OLB Brandon Jenkins.

  • This move will free up $410,570 in cap space for the Redskins, according to OverTheCap.com.

There has been talk that Jenkins was likely on the chopping block this year, despite the fact that he’s only entering his second year in the NFL.

During his senior season at Florida State, Jenkins unfortunately suffered a serious knee injury that caused him to drop in the draft.

Over the course of four years at FSU, Jenkins recorded 119 tackles, 37.5 tackles for a loos, 22.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and four pass defenses.

Jenkins could end up catching on with a new team in the coming days.
