Redskins Working To Sign LB Zach Brown To Extension

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports is reporting that the Redskins are working to sign LB Zach Brown to a contract extension.

Brown is in line to be one of the best available linebackers in next year’s free agent class and he has been a great addition for Washington, so this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

Brown, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Titans back in 2012. He finished his four-year rookie contract with Tennessee before signing a one-year, $1,250,000 contract with the Bills as an unrestricted free agent in 2016.

After finding less interest than anticipated, Brown agreed to a one-year, $2.3 million contract with the Redskins.

In 2017, Brown has appeared in 12 games and recorded 117 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and two pass defenses for the Redskins. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 53 linebacker out of 86 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding a new contract for Brown as the news is available.
