Report: Bears Meet With LB Brain Urlacher Regarding A New Contract

According to Albert Breer of NFL Network, the Bears have met with LB Brian Urlacher‘s representatives at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Previous reports indicated that the Bears were noncommittal towards the idea of re-signing Urlacher, but it seems as though the organization is prepared to keep him in Chicago for at least another season.

Urlacher, 34, was clearly impacted by the injury that he suffered towards the end of the 2011 season. It makes sense that the Bears would appreciate this situation with caution given how much means to the team and the franchise as a whole. Urlacher has gone on record that he would like to retire with the Bears and seems to be willing to offer them a discount to do so. We’ll have to see what the Bears are willing to offer in terms total years in his next deal.

Very smart in keeping him for his leadership and for grooming the next “Urlacher” in the making…who ever that may be…. YES!!!!!!!

  • “This will be a day long remembered. It has seen the end of Kenobi, and will soon see the end of the rebellion.” But, keeping Urlacher is a good idea.
