Michael Gehlken reports that the Chargers have released veteran FB Le’Ron McClain on Tuesday.
- Gehlken adds that this move will create $2.5 million in cap space for the Chargers.
McClain, 29, has been mentioned as a potential release candidate for a few months now. He signed a three-year contract worth $8.25 million that included $3 million guaranteed with the Chargers back in 2012.
He appeared in all 16 games for the Chargers last season and totaled 32 yards rushing on 11 carries, but was limited to playing just 134 offensive snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
