Eagles Sign RB Darren Sproles To A Two-Year Extension

———

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Philadelphia Eagles have signed RB Darren Sproles to a two-year contract extension.

The New Orleans Saints just traded Sproles to the Philadelphia Eagles for a fifth-round pick on Thursday, so they clearly wasted no time in locking him up to an extension.

Sproles, 30, had one year remaining on his four-year, $14 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $3.4 million for the upcoming season.

Last year, Sproles ran for 220 yards on 53 carries (4.2 YPC) while also contributing another 604 receiving yards on 71 receptions. He added four total touchdowns as well.
