Redskins Announce The Signing Of LB Perry Riley

Update:

————

Dianna Marie Russini reports that the Redskins have re-signed ILB Perry Riley to a three-year contract worth $13 million.

Riley, 25, is coming off of a season in which he tallied 115 tackles, one interception and a fumble recovery. There is still room for growth with Riley, but he has had some issues with stopping the run.

According to Pro Football Focus, Riley rates as the No. 46 inside linebacker out of 55 qualifying players with London Fletcher coming in at No. 55. Both of them were well below average in run defense, but Riley did show some ability to get to the quarterback as an inside rusher.

We had Riley listed as the No. 1o1 player in our Top Free Agents list.

Dianna Marie Russini reports that the Redskins have re-signed ILB Perry Riley to a new contract.

  • Russini adds that the “deal is done.”
  • Mike Garafolo reports that the deal is not quite done yet, but it looks like an agreement could be reached.

The two sides had been discussing a new contract for a few weeks now, so it’s not surprising to see the Redskins ramp up their efforts ahead of free agency tomorrow.
