Report: Steelers Could Be Without RB Le’Veon Bell Longer Than Expected

Dejan Kovacevic of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that the Steelers could be without second-round pick Le’Veon Bell longer than they anticipated.

  • According to Kovacevic, Bell is dealing with a “rare midfoot sprain” that is classified as a Lisfranc injury.
  • Kovacevic adds that the Steelers are now hoping that Bell can return in about a month.

Bell told reporters that he was hoping to be back in time to play in their Week 2 matchup against the Bengals, but this appears to be an overly optimistic expectation.

The Steelers rushing attack was held to just 32 total rushing yards in Week 1 by the Titans defense. Isaac Redman was atrocious, but will start this weekend’s game. Now that La’Rod Stephens-Howling is done for the season, Felix Jones figures to be in for a larger workload in the coming weeks.
