Bears Re-Sign CB Kelvin Hayden

Update:

Chicago signed Hayden to a one-year deal last March, but unfortunately suffered a season-ending hamstring tear that led to Chicago placing him on injured reserve.

In 2012, Hayden appeared in all 16 games for the Bears and totaled 37 tackles and four fumble recoveries. He graded out as the No. 72 cornerback in the league that season, according to Pro Football Focus.

Mike Wright of ESPN Chicago, citing a league source, reports that there is a “strong” chance the Bears will free agent CB Kelvin Hayden this offseason.

  • Wright adds that Chicago is looking for more competition at nickel cornerback position.

This probably isn’t all that surprising given that Wright previously reported that Bears would like to retain him.
