Report: Titans Reach Agreement With DE Shaun Phillips

Mike Garafolo reports that the Titans have reached an agreement with veteran DE Shaun Phillips on two-year contract.

Garafolo adds that Phillips’ contract with Tennessee is worth a maximum value of $6 million.

The Broncos were reportedly hoping to re-sign Phillips, however, they have maintained that they were going to allow their free agents to field offers from prospective NFL teams.

A deal came together relatively quickly for the two sides. Tennessee adds some needed depth at defensive end at a pretty reasonable price.

Phillips, 32, was signed to an extremely low contract last season and was without a doubt of the biggest steals in free agency. Last year, Phillips produced 37 tackles, 10 sacks, one interception and two forced fumbles.

Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 18 overall defensive end in a 4-3 system last season.
