Saints Interviewed Brad Banta For Special Teams Coordinator Vacancy

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Saints recently interviewed Brad Banta for their special teams coach vacancy.

The Saints are looking to replace Greg McMahon, who previously was in charge of their special teams, after he was recently fired along with a few other coaches.

Banta, 46, spent 11 years in the NFL as a tight end and a long-snapper, playing for the Colts, Jets, Lions and Bills.

He began his NFL coaching career in 2008 when the Lions hired him as their assistant special teams coach. After four years in that position, Banta was named assistant linebackers coach.

After six years in Detroit, the Redskins hired him as their assistant special teams coordinator.
