Saints Worked Out Three Players Including LB Lorenzo Mauldin

According to Howard Balzer, the New Orleans Saints brought in _ free agents for workouts on Monday, including DE Geneo Grissom, LB Lorenzo Mauldin, and DT Henry Mondeaux.

Of this group, the Saints signed Mondeaux to their practice squad.

Mauldin, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Jets back in 2015. He was among the Jets’ final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

Since becoming a free agent, Mauldin has worked out for the Bears and Lions but left both teams without a contract.

In 2016, Mauldin appeared in 11 games for the Jets and recorded 16 tackles, 2.5 sacks, an interception and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 82 edge defender out of 109 qualifying players.

Grissom, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Patriots back in 2015. He spent a portion of his rookie season on the Patriots’ practice squad before being called up in October.

Since then, Grissom has been on and off the Patriots’ active roster.

In 2018, Grissom has appeared in four games for the Patriots and recorded one tackle and no sacks.
