Mike Kaye of First Coast News reports that the Seahawks are signing DE Tavares Barnes.
It appears as though it didn’t take long for Barnes to secure another opportunity with an NFL, as he was placed on waivers by the Saints just a few days ago.
Barnes, 24, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson back in May of last year. He managed to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season.
Barnes was in the second year of his three-year, $1.582 million rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.
In 2015, Barnes appeared in 12 games for the Saints and recorded five tackles and no sacks.
