Steelers Hosting Veteran DL Tyson Alualu For Visit

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN is reporting that the Steelers are bringing in veteran DL Tyson Alualu for a visit. Alualu is flying into Pittsburgh at some point Monday.

This is the first reported interest in Alualu since the free agent market officially opened a few weeks ago.

Alualu, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2010. He played out his rookie contract with the Jaguars before returning to the team on a two-year, $6,000,000 contract back in 2015.

Alualu is currently testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2016, Alualu appeared in 14 games for the Jaguars and recorded 37 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 74 interior defender out of 127 qualifying players.
