John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans have placed rookie DL Brandon Ivory on waivers Thursday following the news that he was arrested on first-degree burglary charges Wednesday in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
The Texans said that they will wait until they have gathered enough information before making a roster decision regarding DL Brandon Ivory.
“The Houston Texans are aware of the police report regarding DT Brandon Ivory in Tuscaloosa, Ala.,” the Texans said in a statement, via Pro Football Talk. “At this time, we will have no further comment until we gather all of the relevant facts.”
Tania Ganguli of ESPN wrote that DL Brandon Ivory‘s agent Jeff Guerriero said, “I spoke to Brandon he is not guilty and his name will be cleared of all charges.”

Accompanied by one other suspect, both were charged with two counts of first degree burglary, and are being held in a Tuscaloosa County jail with a $120,000 bond.
Ivory and the other suspect were said to have “kicked in” the victims backdoor, stole two Apple Ipads and money, while assaulting one of the victims. One of the suspects were said to be carrying an assault rifle, with the other handling a knife. After fleeing the scene in a gray 2003 Toyota Corolla, police responded to an apartment complex of the two perpetrators to find the stolen items and weapons.
Ivory, 23, joined the Texans in May as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Alabama. At this point, it seems highly unlikely that he will continue to hold a roster spot with Houston if the charges stick.
We will provide more information regarding Ivory as the news becomes available.
