Vance Joseph Expected To Return As Broncos’ HC Next Year

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, citing sources informed of the team’s thinking, reports that Broncos HC Vance Joseph is expected to return for the 2018 season, despite some concerns that he could be one-and-done.

However, Rapoport qualifies this by saying that the Broncos’ brass will be watching to see how the team performs over the final three weeks of the season and the possibility exists that they could still go the other way and possibly move on from Joseph.

According to Rapoport, Broncos executives John Elway and Joe Ellis want to make it work with Joseph and understand the offensive limitations they currently have.

Joseph, 45, began his NFL coaching career with the 49ers back in 2005 as an assistant defensive backs coach. From there, Joseph worked for the Texans and Bengals before he was hired as the Dolphins’ defensive coordinator for the 2016 season.

The Broncos previously had interest in Joseph regarding their head-coaching job and eventually hired him for the position this past January.

In 2017, Joseph has led the team to a record of 4-9 (30.8 percent).

We’ll have more regarding Joseph and the Broncos as the news is available.
