Report: More Than 10 Teams Interested In Signing Darren Sproles As A Free Agent

Update:

Ian Rapoport reports that more than 10 NFL teams already have interest in Saints RB Darren Sproles if he were to be available in the coming days.

  • The Saints reportedly still trying to find a trade partner before deciding to cut him loose.

The Vikings and Bears have both been mentioned as potential landing spots for Sproles.

Sproles, 30, is one of the more versatile running backs in the league and has really become a one-of-a-kind talent. Last year, Sproles ran for 220 yards on 53 carries (4.2 YPC) while also contributing another 604 receiving yards on 71 receptions. He added four total touchdowns as well.

Sproles would be an interesting compliment to Adrian Peterson, and a decent third-down back in the Vikings new offense.

We have Sproles listed at No. 57 in our Top 100 Free Agents List.

According to Albert Breer of NFL Network, Saints RB Darren Sproles could be an option for the Minnesota Vikings.

  • Breer mentions that the Saints haven’t officially released Sproles just yet, but they are expected to continue shopping him around the league ahead of free agency.

Previous reports indicated that the Chicago Bears could be another option for Sproles based on the fact that they have released Michae Bush and have former Saints’ OC Aaron Kromer running their offense.
