Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Vikings are releasing veteran G Alex Boone as they cut their roster down to 53 players.
Boone, 30, signed a four-year, $26.8 million contract that includes $10 million guaranteed with the Vikings as a free agent in March of last year. Boone was set to make base salaries of $6.6. million over the remainder of the contract.
In 2016, Boone appeared in 14 games for the Vikings and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 37 guard out of 75 qualifying players.
