Vikings Sign C Joe Berger To One-Year Extension

The Minnesota Vikings announced Friday that they’ve signed C Joe Berger to a one-year contract extension.

  • Tom Pelissero reports that Berger receives a $915,000 roster bonus as part of his new one-year extension with the Vikings.
  • Berger stands to make close to $2 million in 2016 and another $1 million in 2017 to go along with incentives in each year.

Berger, 34, is a former sixth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2005. He had brief stints with the Dolphins and Cowboys before signing on with the Vikings as an unrestricted free agent in March of 2013.

Berger was in the final year of his two-year, $2.155 million contract and set to make a base salary of $985,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Berger appeared in all 16 games for the Vikings.
