Bengals impending free agent S Reggie Nelson says he doesn’t want his time with Cincinnati to end with him sitting on the sideline for their playoff loss to the Steelers.
โMost definitely not,โ Nelson said, via Bengals.com. โThey know that. Everybody knows that. I would love to be a Bengal.ย I did my part. I played football. Itโs time to handle business and weโll go from there.โ
The Bengals have a number of free agents in their secondary to address including Leon Hall, Adam Jones, and George Iloka, so it could be tough for them keep even majority of this group.
Nelson, 32, played out his contract and is now in position to test the open market in the coming weeks as an unrestricted free agent.
In 2015, Nelson appeared in all 16 games and recorded 77 tackles, eight interceptions, two forced fumbles, and 14 pass defenses.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 9 safetyย out of 88 qualifying players.
We haveย him featuredย in ourย Top 100 – 2016 Free Agents list.
