2022 NFL Draft Tracker: Day One

Here’s our 2022 NFL Draft Tracker. We’ll be posting draft picks here as soon as they’re available along with profiles for the prospects, so be sure to check back for the latest.

2022 NFL Draft Tracker

1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Georgia DE Travon Walker

Walker, 21, was named to the freshman All-SEC team in 2019 and elected to enter the 2022 NFL Draft as a junior. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to former DE Ezekiel Ansah.

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $37,372,622 contract that includes a $24,360,089. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his three-year college career, Walker recorded 61 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, one recovery and three pass deflections in 29 career games. 

2. Detroit Lions: Michigan DE Aidan Hutchinson

Hutchinson, 21, was a  three-year starter at Michigan. He finished second in the voting for the Heisman trophy, was a Consensus All-American and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 2021. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to former DE Kyle Vanden Bosch. 

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $35,713,386 contract that includes a $23,153,372. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his four-year career at Michigan, Hutchinson recorded 156 total tackles, 27.5 for a loss, 17.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, two recoveries and 10 pass deflections in 36 career games.

3. Houston Texans: LSU CB Derek Stingley Jr 

Stingley, 20, was a three-year starter at LSU. He was a first-team All-American and first-team All-SEC selection as a sophomore but missed time during his junior season due to a Lisfranc injury.

Lance Zierlein compares him to Colts CB Stephon Gilmore. 

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $34,657,529 contract that includes a $22,385,476. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his three-year college career, Stingley recorded 73 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, six interceptions, 20 pass defenses, two fumble recoveries, and two forced fumbles. 

4. New York Jets: Cincinnati CB Ahmad Gardner

Gardner, 21, was a three-year starter at Cincinnati. He was a Consensus All-American and AAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2021. 

He did not allow a receiving touchdown in his three years in college and at 6-3 possesses the type of rangy build that some teams will find compelling. 

Lance Zierlein’s NFL comp for Gardner is Richard Sherman.

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $33,450,799 contract that includes a $21,507,854. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his three-year college career, Gardner recorded 99 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, nine interceptions, including two returned for touchdowns, and 16 pass defenses in 33 career games.

5. New York Giants: Oregon DE Kayvon Thibodeaux

Thibodeaux, 21, was the No. 1 high school recruit entering Oregon in 2019 and backed that up over his three years, finishing as an AP All-American his final two years. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to former OLB Brian Orakpo. 

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $31,339,038 contract that includes a $19,972,028. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his three-year college career at Oregon, Thibodeaux appeared in 30 games and recorded 126 tackles, 19 sacks, three forced fumbles and seven pass deflections.

6. Carolina Panthers: North Carolina State OL Ikem Ekwonu

Ekwonu, 21, is expected to be one of the top offensive tackles taken in the 2022 draft and could be a potential top-10 overall pick when all is said and done. 

Ekwonu was once seen as an interior offensive line prospect but changed the minds of some evaluators with his play at tackle. 

NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein compares Ekwonu to NFL veteran G Kelechi Osemele.

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $27,568,051 contract that includes a $17,229,491. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his three-year college career, Ekwonu appeared in 24 games and made 19 starts at left tackle for the Wolfpack. 

7. New York Giants: Alabama OT Evan Neal 

Neal, 21, was a three-year starter at Alabama. He was a consensus First Team All-American and a first-team All-SEC in 2021. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to Eagles OT Jordan Mailata.

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $24,551,259 contract that includes a $15,035,461. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his college career at Alabama, Neal appeared in 40 games, making 40 starts at left tackle, guard and right tackle. 

8. Atlanta Falcons: USC WR Drake London

London, 20, was a  three-year starter at USC. He was the Pac-12 offensive player of the year and a first-team All-PAC 12 selection in 2021. 

At USC, London played both football and basketball. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to former NFL WR Ed McCaffrey. 

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $21,534,467 contract that includes a $12,841,430. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his college career at USC, London appeared in 22 games and caught 160 passes for 2,153 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns over the course of three seasons.

9. Seattle Seahawks: Miss. State OT Charles Cross

Cross, 21, was a two-year starter at Mississippi State. He was a first-team All-American and a first-team All-SEC selection in 2021. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to a combination of Taylor Moton (physical) and Tristan Wirfs (play).

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $21,383,456 contract that includes a $12,731,604. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his three-year college career at Mississippi State, Cross appeared in 25 games, making 22 starts for them at left tackle.

10. New York Jets: Ohio State WR Garrett Wilson

Wilson, 21, was named first-team All-Big Ten in 2020 and first-team All-American in 2021 before declaring for the 2022 NFL Draft following his junior year at Ohio State. 

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $20,554,004 contract that includes a $12,128,366. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his three-year college career at OSU, Wilson caught 143 passes for 2,213 yards receiving to go along with 143 yards rushing and 24 total touchdowns over the course of 32 games.

11. New Orleans Saints: Ohio State WR Chris Olave

Olave, 21, was first-team All-Big Ten in 2020 and 2021 and a second-team AP All-American in 2021 as a senior. He holds the record for most career touchdown receptions in Ohio State history. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to Commander’s WR Terry McLaurin.

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $19,271,875 contract that includes a $11,195,909. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

For his career, Olave appeared in 38 games for the Buckeyes and recorded 175 receptions for 2,702 yards (15.4 YPC) and 35 touchdowns. 

12. Detroit Lions: Alabama WR Jameson Williams

Williams, 21, is considered among the best receivers available in this year’s draft. He was a first-team All-American, first-team All-SEC, and the SEC Co-Special Teams Player of the Year in 2021. 

Williams needed surgery for a torn ACL sustained in the National Championship Game, but doctors expect the receiver to make a full recovery and retain his sub 4.3 speed.

Lance Zierlein compares him to veteran WR Will Fuller. 

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $17,461,789 contract that includes a $9,879,483. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his three-year college career, Williams recorded 94 receptions for 1,838 yards (19.6 YPC) and 18 touchdowns, to go along with ten kickoff returns for 352 yards (35.2 YPR) and two touchdowns. 

13. Philadelphia Eagles: Georgia DT Jordan Davis

Davis, 22, was an AP All-American as a senior and won the Chuck Bednarik Award and Outland Trophy, given to college football’s best defensive player and best interior defensive lineman respectively. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to former DT Haloti Ngata. 

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $17,009,274 contract that includes a $9,550,381. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his four-year college career, Davis recorded 90 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks and one pass deflection in 41 games. 

14. Baltimore Ravens: Notre Dame D S Kyle Hamilton

Hamilton, 21, was a two-year starter at Notre Dame. He was a first-team All-American as a junior in 2021. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to former S Kam Chancellor.

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $16,255,078 contract that includes a $9,001,875. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his college career at Notre Dame, Hamilton appeared in 31 games and recorded 138 tackles, eight interceptions, a defensive touchdown and 16 pass deflections over the course of three seasons.

15. Houston Texans: Texas A&M OL Kenyon Green

Green, 21, was a three-year starter at Texas A&M was a consensus All-American in 2021 and 2020, earned first-team All-SEC honors in 2021, and second-team All-SEC in 2020. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to veteran G Richie Incognito. 

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $15,953,416 contract that includes a $8,782,485. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his three-year college career, Green appeared in 35 games and started all 35 times, making 17 appearances at left guard, 15 at right guard, twice at right tackle, and once at left tackle. 

16. Washington Commanders: Penn State WR Jahan Dotson

Dotson, 22, is a three-year starter at Penn State and earned third-team All-American honors and second-team All-Big Ten in 2021, and was third-team All-Big Ten in 2020. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to veteran WR Emmanuel Sanders.

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $15,048,358 contract that includes a $8,124,260. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his four-year college career, Dotson appeared in 42 games and made 38 starts, recording 183 receptions for 2,757 yards (15.1 YPC) and 25 touchdowns.  

17. Los Angeles Chargers: Boston College G Zion Johnson 

Johnson, 22, was a  three-year starter at Boston College. He was a first-team All-ACC selection as a senior. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to former G Larry Warford.

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $14,746,678 contract that includes a $7,904,856. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his college career at Boston College, Johnson appeared in 58 games, making 49 starts at left guard, left tackle and right tackle. 

18. Tennessee Titans: Arkansas WR Treylon Burks

Burks, 21, was a two-year starter at Arkansas and was first-team All-SEC in 2021 and twice named All-SEC second-team in 2019 and 2020. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to Titans WR A.J. Brown.

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $14,369,584 contract that includes a $7,630,607. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his three-year college career, Burks recorded 147 receptions for 2,418 yards (15.4 YPC) and 18 touchdowns. He also rushed 38 times for 222 yards and a touchdown.

19. New Orleans Saints: Northern Iowa OT Trevor Penning 

Penning, 22, was a three-year starter at Northern Iowa and earned first-team All-American and first-team All-MVFC honors in 2021, and was an honorable mention for All-MVFC in 2020. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to Jon Runyan Sr. (size/demeanor) and Riley Reiff (play style).

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $14,143,317 contract that includes a $7,466,049. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his four-year college career, Penning appeared in 37 games and made 33 starts with 31 of them at left tackle, one at right tackle, and one start at right guard. 

20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Pittsburgh QB Kenny Pickett

Pickett, 23, was the 2021 ACC Player of the Year, First Team All-ACC and finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to veteran QB Andy Dalton (prime years). 

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $14,067,904 contract that includes a $7,411,203. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his five-year career with the Panthers, Pickett completed 62.4 percent of his passes for 12,303 yards to go with 81 touchdowns and 32 interceptions. He also rushed for 801 yards and 20 touchdowns.

21. Kansas City Chiefs: Washington CB Trent McDuffie

McDuffie, 21, was a three-year starter at Washington and earned first-team All-Pac12 honors in 2021 and was named All-Pac12 second-team in 2020. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to CB Jaire Alexander.

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $13,992,482 contract that includes a $7,356,350. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his three-year college career, McDuffie appeared in 28 games and made 26 starts, recording 94 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, three forced fumbles, and 10 pass defenses. 

22. Green Bay Packers: Georgia LB Quay Walker

Walker, 21, was a one-year starter at Georgia. He originally played edge rusher before moving to linebacker.

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $13,841,637 contract that includes a $7,246,645. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his college career at Georgia, Walker appeared in 52 games and recorded 139 tackles, five sacks, and three pass deflections. 

23. Buffalo Bills: Florida CB Kaiir Elam

Elam, 20, was a four-star recruit who played for three years at the University of Florida. He was named to the freshman All-SEC team in 2019 and was first-team All-SEC in 2020. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to Bears CB Jaylon Johnson.

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $13,690,802 contract that includes a $7,136,947. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

In three years at Florida, Elam played in 35 games with 27 starts and recorded 79 total tackles, 26 passes defended and six interceptions.

24. Dallas Cowboys: Tulsa OT Tyler Smith

Smith, 21, was a three-year starter at Tulsa and earned second-team All-AAC honors in 2021 and first-team All-AAC in 2020. 

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $13,389,122 contract that includes a $6,917,543. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his three-year college career, Smith appeared in 25 games and made 23 starts all at left tackle. 

25. Baltimore Ravens: Iowa C Tyler Linderbaum

Linderbaum, 22, was a three-year starter at Iowa and earned first-team All-American honors in 2021 and 2020, to go along with a first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2021, second-team All-Big Ten in 2020, and an honorable mention in 2019.

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $13,238,286 contract that includes a $6,807,844. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his four-year college career, Linderbaum appeared in 37 games and made all 35 starts at center. 

26. New York Jets: Florida State DE Jermaine Johnson

Johnson, 23, transferred from Georgia to Florida State for the 2021 college football season and had a breakout season that vaulted him into the first-round conversation. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to Raiders DE Maxx Crosby.

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $13,087,423 contract that includes a $6,698,126. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his senior season at Florida State, Johnson recorded 70 total tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovered and returned for a touchdown and two pass deflections in 12 games. 

27. Jacksonville Jaguars: Utah LB Devin Lloyd

Lloyd, 23, was a three-year starter at Utah and was a consensus All-American, Pac12 Defensive Player of the Year, and first-team All-Pac12 selection in 2021. He also earned first-team All-Pac12 honors in 2020 and was an honorable mention in 2019. 

Lance Zierlein compares him to Chiefs LB Willie Gay. 

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $12,936,606 contract that includes a $6,588,441. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his four-year college career, Lloyd appeared in 47 games and made 32 starts, recording 255 total tackles, 43 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, one forced fumble, five interceptions, and 13 pass defenses. 

28. Green Bay Packers: Georgia DT Devonte Wyatt

Wyatt, 24, began his college career at Hutchinson Community College before transferring to Georgia. He was a two-year starter at Georgia. He was a first-team All-SEC selection as a senior.

During his four-year college career, Wyatt recorded 113 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, five sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and three pass defenses. 

29. New England Patriots: Chattanooga OL Cole Strange

Strange, 23, was a five-year starter at Chattanooga. He was a First Team All-American and First Team All-

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $12,255,978 contract that includes a $6,093,438. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his college career at Chattanooga, Strange appeared in 49 games and made 44 starts at left guard, left tackle and center.

30. Kansas City Chiefs: Purdue DE George Karlaftis

Karlaftis, 21, was born and raised in Athens before moving to the United States and attending Purdue. He was a  three-year starter at Purdue and a second-team All-American to go along with a first-team All-Big Ten selection as a junior. 

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $11,935,481 contract that includes a $5,860,350. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his college career at Purdue, Karlaftis recorded 61 tackles, 14 sacks, three forced fumbles, four recoveries, a defensive touchdown and six pass deflections over the course of three seasons and 26 games played.

31. Cincinnati Bengals: Michigan S Daxton Hill

Hill, 21, was a three-year starter at Michigan and earned first-team All-Big Ten honors in 2021. 

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $11,667,014 contract that includes a $5,665,101. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his three-year college career, Hill appeared in 33 games and made 23 starts, recording 151 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sack, four interceptions, and 20 pass defenses. 

32. Minnesota Vikings: Georgia S Lewis Cine

Cine, 22, was a two-year starter at Georgia. He was a third-team All-American and a second-team All-SEC selection as a junior.

Lance Zierlein compares him to S Anthony Harris. 

He’s projected to sign a four-year, $11,494,150 contract that includes a $5,539,382. There is also a fifth-year option for the team to pick up in 2025.

During his college career at Georgia, Cine appeared in 39 games and recorded 145 tackles, 3.5 sacks, two interceptions and 16 pass deflections.
