49ers Claim DL Zach Moore Off Waivers From Cowboys, Place Carlos Hyde On I.R.

The San Francisco 49ers announced Tuesday that they have claimed DL Zach Moore off waivers from the Cowboys and placed RB Carlos Hyde on injured reserve.

Moore, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Patriots back in May of 2014. He lasted just over a year in New England before he was at the start of the season and later signed to the Vikings’ practice squad.

Minnesota wound up cutting Moore loose coming out of the preseason and he later signed on to the Cowboys’ practice squad. The Cowboys promoted him to their active roster a few weeks ago.

In 2016, Moore has appeared in one game but has not recorded a statistic.

Hyde, 25, is a former second-round pick by the 49ers in the 2014 NFL Draft. He is in the third year of a four-year, $3.681 million rookie contract that included a $997,584 signing bonus. He is set to make a base salary of $654,698 this season to go along with another $822,047 in 2017.

In 2016, Hyde appeared in 13 games for the 49ers, recording 988 rushing yards on 288 attempts for six touchdowns, and three lost fumbles. He also gathered 27 receptions for 163 yards receiving and three touchdowns. ProFootballFocus rates Hyde as the No. 21 overall running back out of 54 qualifying players.
